Kate Spade Saturday Shut Doors and Offers 40% Off Everything

C_4IRU0474_443_1_SThe moment Kate Spade Saturday launched, I was delighted. Dedicated to weekend wear, the line takes all the quirk and sass of Kate Spade and multiplies it, but at a much lower price point.

Fast forward to now, and I’m suddenly crushed to hear that Kate Spade is discontinuing the line. Say it ain’t so! I had persuaded myself that I still could not afford Saturday, but looking back I wonder, why didn’t I stock up while I could? Why didn’t I purchase one standout item per month and accumulate my dream wardrobe? Why? Well, here’s the last chance.

Kate Spade Saturday is offering a whopping 40% off everything in stores and online, including sale items. Use code EXTRA40 at www.saturday.com. The only exclusions are the New Balance shoes, personalized weekender bags, and monogrammed orders. Online shoppers will also receive free shipping. I’m telling you, they want this stuff gone, and they want it gone now! Go get it.

But wait! Make your purchase through Ebates.com and receive another 5% in cash back from your purchase. Learn all about Ebates in my recent post, Money Back for Online Purchases with Ebates.com.

What did I get? The very practical Zipline Crossbody Bag in black, originally $170 and marked down to $102. I’ll also receive $5 back via eBates. So naturally, I now I want the same bag in this not-so-practical shade of mint. Temptations…

Money Back for Online Purchases with Ebates.com

Occasionally, I’ll learn about a money-saving trick that’s so revolutionary and game-changing, only to find out that it’s been around for years without me ever catching wind of it. It’s shocking, really. The most recent such discovery being Ebates.com.

You’ve likely heard of rebates. They’re sales promotions that offer a specified amount of money back for items purchased—some are instant when the item is bought, while most are mail-in. Mail-in rebates usually require mailing in a rebate form, plus proof of purchase to the merchandiser or store. The customer then receives a check in return. Add technology and online shopping to the mix, and you’ve got Ebates.

Ebates.com incentivizes shoppers to buy from featured stores by offering a percentage of each purchase back, either as a mailed check or a convenient deposit into your Paypal account. Percentages can vary anywhere from 1% up to 25% cash back, depending on the store. It’s as simple as signing up at www.ebates.com, and searching for your retailer of choice. The percentage back is listed for each store, along with any current discount codes. Once you select your preferred vendor (by clicking on it’s logo or title), you’ll be redirected to the retailer’s site to make your purchase. *Note: Make sure you are logged into Ebates and that you ONLY enter the retailers site through the Ebates link, otherwise it will not track the referral, and you will not receive the rebate.

Right when you think it can’t get any better, you’ll also receive a $10 gift cards for Macy’s, Walmart, Target, Kohl’s, or a $5 gift card for Ebates, just for signing up and making your first $25 purchase.

So, why would Ebates want to give you this money? Isn’t there a catch? Actually, there isn’t. It’s all a marketing ploy to get more shoppers online. Stores pay Ebates a sales commission for sending them customers, and Ebates gives money back to the customer in return. It’s a win for all.

I now can’t imagine shopping for anything online without checking Ebates first. I already received my first credit for $8.25 and my $10 Macy’s gift card, which inspired me to write this post. Beware though, you may end up making purchases you weren’t planing on making. It happens, and that’s exactly why it works.

Free Sample of Schwarzkopf Shampoo & Conditioner

As much as I love a good deal, there’s one thing that I always splurge on, and that’s my hair. It’s my number one accessory. So when I find a free sample from a high-quality brand like Schwarzkopf, I don’t hesitate. It’s the perfect backup for that awful moment when I run out of my favorite shampoo. Who knows, I may just find a new favorite.

In addition, the sample comes with a $2 coupon off future purchases. So you can try it, then buy it.

I’m baaack…

Sometimes life gets a little crazy, and we need a little break. Sometimes that break becomes a longer sabbatical. Well, guess what. My sabbatical is officially over. I’m back!

In the past few years, I’ve learned to make more money and increase my salary, but I’ve also learned that with more income, comes more expenses. At least, it seems to go that way. I’ve missed digging deep for deals (my bank account does too), but most of all, I miss sharing those deals with all of you.

Plus, I just made the move of a lifetime to NYC! The Bay Area is wonderful and beautiful, but I’ve lived in California my whole life, and was craving change and new challenges. Well, I sure got it. My whole world has been flipped upside down, and I’m trying to save more money than ever before.

I’ve decided to re-start my site from scratch, but if you’re feeling nostalgic, you can still find my ancient, outdated posts over at http://missbargainista.blogspot.com.

From one expensive city to another, let the bargain hunting begin!
